I'm a lactation consultant & I help families to overcome breastfeeding difficulties.

Hi, I'm the face behind Mara & Marco Lactation & founded Mara & Marco Lactation simply because I love seeing babies & parents thrive during this special journey. There is not enough emphasis on the benefits of breastfeeding, how to do it & that breastfeeding is the most natural way to nourish babies. I am determined to change that.

Most families do not know who, how & when to seek help during troubling breastfeeding times. They're worried, frustrated, depressed & eager to provide the best for their babies but they do not know how.

I believe in:

- supporting breastfeeding family as a whole

- evidence-based & safe breastfeeding practices

- different families have different breastfeeding goals

- there is no point implementing breastfeeding practices that does not suit the family's lifestyle

- pumping is breastfeeding

- joy of breastfeeding is seeing both baby & parents thrive

Fun Facts!

I love a good cookbook but I do not know how to cook. My husband is the chef at home.

Definitely a tea person, I get so pumped & efficient with a pot of good tea. We are talking about one pot in 1 hour here.

I 'secretly' wants to be a fancy horticulturist and would love to have a garden of my own! Fancy a cuppa in my garden?

Dr Renee Chan PH is a practising doctor (MBBS) & an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant® (IBCLC®) at Mara & Marco Lactation.

Her clinical experiences throughout the years gave her the insight of the importance of breastfeeding and the need of quality prenatal breastfeeding education and postpartum breastfeeding support. She specializes in providing clinical management of breastfeeding, antenatal & postnatal education & preparation. Her hospital clinical experiences allow her to provide practical solutions to overcome various breastfeeding difficulties with different families.

Her aim is to empower parents and provide them confidence in the journey of breastfeeding and motherhood.

Every breastfeeding dyad is different, every motherhood is different, every family is different. Her philosophy is to find a path most suited for every client based on research evidences, paired with knowing her clients personally. From her experience, she understands that each client has their own circumstances and each will need options tailored to their needs.
